What Is Botify?

An enterprise search platform that joins crawl data, server log data and analytics for sites large enough that crawl efficiency is the constraint.

Definition

Botify is a hosted enterprise SEO platform. Its distinguishing feature is that it combines its own crawl of a site with the site's server logs and with analytics and Search Console data, so that crawlability, actual crawl behaviour and resulting traffic can be analysed together for the same URLs.

The problem it addresses

On a site with millions of URLs, the limiting factor is often not whether pages are optimised but whether search engines reach them at all. Joining crawl and log data makes that visible: pages that exist and are indexable but are never requested, and requests being spent on URLs that generate no value.

When it is and is not the right tool

The platform assumes scale. For a site of a few thousand URLs, a desktop crawler and a log parser cover the same ground at a fraction of the cost. The economics shift when crawl budget is a genuine constraint and when several teams need the same continuously updated view.

The pages worth worrying about on a very large site are usually not the ones ranking badly. They are the ones never crawled at all.
